Bright Wings

Well, I have the wings in their basic colours. However, now that I have taken all the masking off, there is a bit of touching up to do. Some is where the colour has bled. This is a little bit of an issue when the red has overrun the yellow, which you can see if you look at the starboard join between the yellow and red, but the biggest over spray is in fact a mistake.

If you look at the photo, specifically at the port engine, you will see that the yellow area runs beyond the engine by about 1mm. On the other side, which is correct, it is tight to the line of the outboard edge of the engine. However, this isn't too much of a problem as all I have to do is mask the line back on the yellow and spray the blue/grey, which should cover in one coat.

Next step is to mask up for the black de-icing boots.

Still on the Catalina

I am working my way through this. I now have the red and yellow sections of the wings done and have given the whole upper surface a coat of blue/grey. I am not getting on too quickly as I am concentrating for the moment on my new N Scale model railway (http://www.gmrblog.co.uk). this is mostly because each evening, Valerie says 'Are you doing your model railway tonight?'. I always do what she suggests so.......

Here are some pictures up to date.
